In the first half of 2023, Morocco’s imports fell by 1.6% to 359.552 million dirhams, while exports rose by 1.9% to 221.345 million dirhams, reducing the trade deficit by 6.8%. The surplus on trade in services rose by 66% to MAD 62,501 million, with travel receipts up 68.9%. Remittances from Moroccans living abroad rose by 13.9% to 55.329 million dirhams, but FDI receipts fell by 29.2%, resulting in a 57.2% drop in net FDI flows.
